6 reasons a weighted blanket helps your child stay extra cozy through winter
It gets dark earlier, the heating goes on, and suddenly you’re all spending much more time indoors. Here are six reasons why a child-sized weighted blanket is just right for the darker months.

The 6 reasons
Why winter calls for extra comfort
Dark evenings call for extra comfort
When it’s already dark at five o’clock, bedtime feels different for many children than it does in summer. Deep pressure stimulation, the effect of a weighted blanket, provides that enveloping, secure feeling that a dark evening can sometimes lack.
The same feeling as a big hug, but all night long.

More time indoors means more energy that needs somewhere to go
In winter, there’s less outdoor play and more time indoors. All that built-up energy still needs somewhere to go in the evening, and you often see it at bedtime. The blanket helps calm their need to move, so children can settle down more quickly.

Soft minky feels extra cozy on cold evenings
Alongside the standard cotton cover, there’s an extra-soft minky version that feels especially cozy in cold weather. The weight stays the same; only the fabric feels softer and warmer against the skin.

Choosing the right weight is about math, not guesswork
As a rule of thumb, the blanket should weigh about 10% of your child’s body weight. That’s why there are two weights: 2.4 kg for children weighing 15 to 25 kg and 3.2 kg for children weighing 25 to 40 kg. Choose based on your child’s weight, not the season.

A winter evening routine with a print your child chooses themselves
A blanket your child has chosen themselves belongs in the winter routine: snuggling together under wool socks, the bedtime story, and then their own blanket. Choose from Space, Polka Dots, Dino, Hippo, Unicorn, and soft Minky.

Try it for 30 nights in your own bed
You won’t know how your child responds until after a few weeks of bedtime. That’s why you can sleep with the blanket at home for 30 nights. If you don’t notice enough of a difference, we’ll collect it free of charge and refund your money.

Frequently asked questions
Won't my child get too warm under a weighted blanket?
The weight comes from fine micro glass beads, not bulky filling, so the blanket stays relatively thin and doesn't get as warm as you might expect. The minky cover does feel softer and cozier than the cotton version, without changing the weight.
What weight does my child need?
Aim for about 10% of your child's body weight. 2.4 kg for children weighing 15 to 25 kg and 3.2 kg for children weighing 25 to 40 kg. If your child is between two sizes, choose the lighter one.
From what age can a child use a weighted blanket?
From age 3, and only if your child can push the blanket off by themselves. Weighted blankets are not suitable for toddlers or babies. The blanket should never cover the head either.
Can the blanket go in the washing machine?
Only wash the blanket itself when absolutely necessary. Use a removable cover instead; it can simply go in the wash. That keeps the bed fresh without any fuss.
What if it turns out not to be right for my child?
Then we'll pick up the blanket free of charge within 30 nights and give you your money back. So you have nothing to risk by finding out if it works.
